I saw Dr Linn today and they r scheduling a scope soon. I hope they put it in before the end of the month. I would like to fly home around the 2nd of March.
He said he was three weeks out but they would do something.
If it is three weeks out maybe I'll fly home and get my car and drive back. I'll see.
We went to the Kohls children's museum and Miss Vinnie was the boss there!!!I'm watching the snow fly!!!

Hello everyone
I had my blood work done and it seems I need to work on my cholesterol levels. But interestingly my D is super low. He called had a RX called in for it. I will have to Google what low D levels cause. I don't think I have been having any weird symptoms.
Anyway...I need to cut back on the chicken wings...lol
Dawn- Congrats on your 2 year!!! Huge accomplishment. I'm sorry about Liv. I know Amanda always said those things at her school were based more popularity than who is best for the job. So who ever the boss likes most. Unfortunately that's how so much is done nowadays.

I sometimes forget to check in here, but Lisa is right! We need to stay in touch.
I am doing well, celebrating 2 years of sobriety and all the life changes and thought changes that come along with a different way of living. I even got flowers from my oldest that made me cry.
Last night, Olivia called me to vent about her awful, no good, very bad day. I am glad that she called me, I think she felt better by the time we were done talking and I feel honored that she called me. She is very independent and doesn't share much of how she's feeling. The fact that she opened up is good.
Not only did she get, "C's" on two tests, but she was told by her supervisor that they would not re-hire her for her RA position, at least for the Fall term. The supervisor told Liv that she wasn't being fired, and encouraged her to apply mid-year and that the supervisor would give her a "great recommendation". This does not make sense to Liv (or I). Not only does she feel that she does a decent job at being an RA, but the position pays for her housing and meal plan to the tune of almost $9,000.00/year. If she does not have an RA position, she will need to find housing and most leases are signed in November for the next Fall. Plus, we will have to find that money somewhere. I encouraged her to contact the Housing Supervisor and see if she can appeal. Her and her immediate supervisor have never really, "clicked", so maybe there is something to be done. If not, we will have to look at other options. I'm still happy that she is opening up a bit more.
Crystal----would you share the chili recipe? It sounds good!
I am going to pick up my 2 year coin tonight, then I need to work on our taxes and other computer work for the Village.
Oh, and I found out today (by Googling myself to show my boss something) that I am a, "featured artist" at the company where I get my Tie Dye supplies. I had submitted the pictures and bio a few years ago and they told me that they could not feature everyone that sent stuff and that is the last I heard. I had NO IDEA! So, another bright spot for today!
That's about it for the northwest corner!

Hello everyone
I am flexible too so whatever day I am pretty sure we can make it.
The furnace. It was something to do the flame ignition...I think that's what it was called. Anyway, we are lucky because we have family that owns a HVAC company so he was out to our house and fixed it by noon and charged only for parts and a piece of cheesecake...LOL.
In the meantime I was pretty cozy under my electric blanket and space heater.
We made homemade chili Saturday it was a new recipe I thought sounded interesting....with bacon and beer. It was pretty yummy.
Today Greg was off of work. Ya his company gets the day off. So he has been home rewiring the entertainment center. Shoveling and doing laundry. I said wow...you're busier than I am. He is also making dinner. Pork roast.
You know next weekend will be in the 50's. I already have plans for Greg to grill out. Oh ya!!!

I hadn't gone out of the house since Friday. Now that the nose is all cleared up, and the weather has gotten better.......... I will be back at work tomorrow. I did see the Dr this morning. She agreed, it was the dry conditions with this temp. I asked her about using saline spray in the nose, she said use vasaline instead. It coats the nose and stays wetter.
If you plan a get together, let me know. This month is flexible.

I would love a getogether. I'm kind of limited with a car. I have to take Liz to work and have Vinnie in Tow.
It would have to be towards the end of the month.. We have friends from Colorado here till Sunday.
I see Dr Linn at Evanston Hospital on Tuesday. He is going to do a scope and I'll be in the hospital overnight. Not sure when that will be scheduled. I think around the 20th.
The cold hadn't been to bad in me! I have my old down jacket that is a mile to big on me an other stuff I dug up!!! Maybe I'll splurge and buy a new coat!!!

Carla, you do realize that you few into the frozen north. It is great that you ca see Vinnie as often as you do.
When Morgan was little, under 6 month, I would pretend to that I was going to "get her", by tickleing her tummy. To this day, if she is lying down or in the recliner, if I sorta claw my hand above her, she will smile and try not to giggle. Maybe some day, she will do it to her own children and grands.
As you know, I have had a nosebleed on and off for over a week. It really got bad thursday evening and night and it started to scare me. So, Friday morning, I went to Urgent care and they packed it. and see my regular doc on Monday. I now look bruised and swollen. This better work, because it won't get done ever again.BTW, it hurt when she did it.
Crystal. which winery did you go to? Illinois valley always has a good selection of their own varities, and reasonable. We prefer it over August Hill.

Hello everyone
Long time no see. I have been sort of busy. Last week with family stuff, of course. This week just catching up.
Does anyone have any nice Valentines plans. Me and Greg did our Valentines get-a-way last week....to beat the rush. It was really nice. And it was a nice relax after the week I had. We went to a winery and I got a glass of caramel apple wine....I never heard of such thing. It was so tasty. It was like a liquid taffy apple with a touch of alcohol. The winery is in Utica...those of you close by want to try it.
This weekend we are staying in and I am trying a few recipes I have wanted to make. We are doing movies...one day is chick flicks and the other is gory horror movies...can guess which ones I like and which ones Greg likes...LOL!!!
We did get our sectional and it so comfy and nice. It has 4 power recliners. Greg, being so handy ran electrical outlets with USB outlets to the built in cubby. So we can hook up our phones, laptops and even my electric blanket...right from the sectional. I have been buying things here and there to make the family room nice (throw pillows, a lamp , wall art). We have a few more things to get and I will be done with the family room. There are a few things I want to get for other rooms...but that will come with time.
Tonight is Greg's dad's birthday get together. We are meeting at the Crystal Bohemian Room (or something like that). It's really not my taste in food but oh well. The man is losing his house in two weeks...he deserves a nice night out.
